An AI Officer cohort together after a live build session.
A live AI Officer cohort. The Perth Finance Series runs online, with the same build alongside the room.

The promise. Over three sessions you build a Finance AI Program Brief, a Financial Data Map and Pipeline Spec, and a working Scenario Modeller. By the end you have working files your team can use Monday.

The format. Two hours live online with Dave Hajdu. Open your laptop. Bring one real problem from your finance function. Each session ends with a tangible artifact, built with AI alongside the cohort, not a slide about one.

Live Demo

Session 1 opens with a live demo on a sample company

Before anything is taught, you watch Claude connected to a sample Xero account answer finance questions in real time: overdue invoices, expense categories, a board-ready summary, all with no copy-paste. Then we walk through how the connection works, what the protocols are, and what's safe to do inside your own business. No one's real numbers are ever on the screen.

How It Works

  1. Pick one workflow. In Session 1 you scan your finance function and choose a single high-leverage workflow to develop across the next two sessions.
  2. Build it live. Each session you work alongside the cohort. Open the workbook, paste the AI Buddy prompt into Claude (or ChatGPT or Gemini), and run the activities with us.
  3. Ship between sessions. Test your artifact with a teammate. Bring questions to the next session. We unblock you live.

The 5D Framework

Every session follows the same planning spine, the pattern that runs every AI program at the AI Officer Institute, applied here to finance, dashboards, and forecasting.

The Three Sessions

Each session has a live build and a workbook. The workbook is a single AI Buddy prompt you paste into a new chat. The AI Buddy walks you through the activities and produces the artifact you walk out with.

Define Your Dashboard Program

Walk in curious. Walk out with a working financial dashboard and a plan you can actually execute. Starts with a live Claude + Xero demo on a sample account. Covers security protocols, how AI reads data, the 5D framework, and your first dashboard build, guided by your AI Buddy through every step.

Map Your Financial Workflow Data

AI is only as good as the data you feed it. Map every source your finance work runs on: owner, refresh cadence, sensitivity, AI-readiness. Then design the real dashboard: auto-narrative, anomaly alerts, natural-language Q&A. Leave with a spec your team can build from.

Build a Forecasting Tool

A dashboard tells you where you are. A scenario modeller tells you where you're going and what happens when your assumptions change. Your AI Buddy interviews you about your revenue drivers, cost structure, and key variables, then builds an interactive three-year projection tool you can open on your laptop and talk to.

Who This Is For

You don't need to write code. You don't need a data science background. You need to know your numbers and be willing to build something live in the room. Bring your finance lead with you.

Founders, CEOs, and Owner-Operators

You want visibility into your numbers without waiting for a report. You want to ask your data questions and get answers. That's what this series builds, with you in the driver's seat.

CFOs and Finance Directors

You already know what questions the board and your owner ask. This series gives you the tools to answer them faster, and to ask ones you couldn't before.

Finance Managers and Controllers

You spend hours every month pulling reports manually. This series cuts that time and gives you dashboards that read themselves.

Finance Teams Going AI-First

You're ready to stop experimenting and run one real AI program on your team. The 5D framework is how you make it happen, and prove the ROI.

What You Walk Out With

Five artifacts. One finance AI program. Every artifact is a working file, not a slide, not a template. You build it in the session, using your own numbers, for your own business.

Finance AI Program Brief

Your problem statement, tool decision, and FAST goal. The document that makes this a program, not an experiment.

Dashboard Prototype

A working HTML dashboard with your KPIs, your colours, your narrative voice. Opens in any browser.

Financial Data Map

Every data source your finance work runs on, rated for AI-readiness. The thing most leaders have never drawn.

Executive Dashboard Spec

Full spec for a dashboard with auto-narrative and alerts. Ready to hand to a developer or build yourself.

Scenario Modeller

An interactive three-year projection tool with sliders and a narrative that rewrites as your assumptions change.

Security First

Is it safe to connect AI to your financial data? We answer it properly, not with a reassurance, but with a walkthrough of the protocols that matter: SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, the Australian Privacy Act, OAuth 2.0, no-training contract terms, data residency, and audit logs. By the time the first activity starts, you'll know exactly what's safe to connect and why.
